Over the years I have met many wonderful and generous people who have happily shared their memories about working on the land. I think they enjoyed our chats as much as I did and I greatly appreciate how with their help I got a much fuller picture of the Bondage System and life on the land. Latterly I was able, with the help of Shadowcat Films, to record some of these chats on film. These filmed conversations form a very valuable collection of memories about life and work on the farms from the 1920s through to the 1950s. Whenever I look at this section of the film I am always amazed at the number of areas that are covered in these informal chats.
